This week, our featured resale comes from Blue Kangaroo Packoutz, a full-service contents cleaning and restoration franchise. Blue Kangaroo Packoutz partner with restoration companies and insurance carriers to help families and businesses in a time of need. When there is fire or water damage, Blue Kangaroo Packoutz offers services like document cleaning and restoration, antiques restoration and refinishing, electronics restoration, furniture reupholstery and more.

• Asking price of $215,000

• Owned by a husband and wife team; each of them own another business and they have not been able to allocate the necessary time/resources to the franchise

• Approximately $75,000 in revenue in Q1 of this year

• Fast-growing market - Boise is one of the fastest growing cities in the country.

Franchise Empire’s Take:

• Contents restoration is covered by insurance. Everyone has it. For an insurance company, it's much less expensive to clean and restore an item than it is to replace it. For a homeowner, they'd usually much rather have THEIR item with sentimental value.

• Traditional property restoration companies fix a house/building after a fire/flood/storm. There is quite a bit of competition in the industry because of the demand. Blue Kangaroo received referrals from those restoration companies instead of competing with them.

• According to their FDD, the 2023 AUV for all locations was $880,415.

One Hour is known for showing up on time, doing quality work, and always treating customers with the best possible service. Their motto is “Always on Time… Or You Don’t Pay A Dime!”

• Rebates and Relationships - Being a part of the Authority Brands allows you to have steep rebates and discounts using the BuyMax vendors. You also have negotiated relationships with Goodman and Amana HVAC products.

• No HVAC Experience Necessary - If you’d like to, you can learn HVAC skills through the Success Academy platform, but most owners bring on a GM who has a license and will supply the technical knowledge needed for the business.

• Needed Service - This isn’t something that can be replaced by Amazon or AI. Even a handy person isn’t able to DIY their own HVAC system. There will always be a demand for heating and cooling.

• Authority Brands - You’ll not only have an opportunity to network and get referrals from sister companies, but you’ll have the chance to own multiple businesses under the same umbrella company. There are over a dozen other franchises that all share a similar customer.
