🎉 New Franchise Owner through Franchise Empire 🎉

Kristina and Jacob were both feeling ready for a change. Kristina had built a successful career in the medical writing and scientific world, but she wanted more independence and long-term growth. Jacob, working in staffing, shared that vision. They wanted to create something together, something they could build as a team.

That’s when they connected with Chris at Franchise Empire. Together, they explored a range of franchise opportunities and narrowed in on what really mattered: a simple, scalable model with strong systems and long-term potential. “They approached the process with so much clarity,” said Chris. “They were aligned as a couple, asked all the right questions, and stayed focused on the big picture. That mindset made all the difference.”

Today, Kristina and Jacob are officially franchise owners and stepping confidently into their next chapter together. Big congrats to both of you!

FRANCHISE OF THE WEEK

Description & History:

You can drive a mile in almost any city and pass multiple 7-Elevens. That kind of density isn’t an accident; it’s the result of one of the most aggressive and controversial franchise growth strategies ever built. 7-Eleven’s story started long before it became a convenience-store giant. Back in 1927, the company began as an ice business. Customers kept asking for basics like milk, bread, and eggs, so the owners added a few shelves of everyday items alongside the ice. That small shift quietly laid the groundwork for the modern convenience retail model.

As demand grew, the brand leaned into what made it different: accessibility and hours. In 1946, it rebranded as 7-Eleven, highlighting its then-radical operating hours of 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. A few years later, one location near a college campus pushed the idea even further by staying open 24 hours a day. The concept worked, and 24/7 convenience quickly became a new standard.

Franchising poured fuel on the expansion. 7-Eleven scaled faster than almost any retail brand before it, often placing stores extremely close together. That strategy helped dominate markets, but it also sparked criticism around territory protection and franchise cannibalization. Today, the result is unmistakable: over 86,000 locations worldwide, making 7-Eleven the largest franchise system on the planet, bigger than McDonald’s, Starbucks, and Subway combined.

The scale is undeniable. But the real question is whether that scale works for the franchisees. So, let's see what it takes to own one of your own.👇

*You should treat the values as approximated values. These values were found online through research.

Numbers*:

  • Total Initial Investment: $142,000 to $1.6 million
  • Franchise Fee: Ranges from $0 up to $1.1 million (Higher fees typically reflect large territories, markets, or multi-unit deals)
  • Royalty Structure: Variable percentage calculated on gross profit, not total sales
  • Marketing Fee: 1% of gross profit per month
*Numbers according to their FDD, released in 2025, and their updated website.

Ideal Franchise Candidate:

  • High-Volume Retail Operator: Comfortable running a business driven by daily foot traffic and thin margins.
  • Staffing-Focused Owner: Able to manage hiring, turnover, and scheduling for extended or 24/7 hours.
  • Process-Driven Manager: Thrives in a system built on consistency, inventory control, and execution.
  • Location-First Thinker: Understands that success is heavily influenced by real estate and traffic patterns.

Financial Data*:

7-Eleven did not state all sales numbers in their FDD; they only revealed the numbers from specific states. For your reference, the screenshot below is the sales information for 7-Eleven locations in Illinois.

Benefits for the Franchisee:

Unmatched Brand Recognition: One of the most recognizable retail brands on the planet.

Constant Consumer Demand: Convenience retail thrives on frequency and impulse purchases.

Royalty on Gross Profit: A fairer structure than royalties charged on top-line sales.

Global Scale & Supply Chain: Backed by one of the largest retail operators in the world.

Massive Foot Traffic Potential: Prime locations drive built-in demand without heavy marketing.
